A remarkably gifted pianist and composer based right here in the West Country, Andy Christie was practically born into the UK jazz scene. Following in the footsteps of his father—the legendary jazz pianist and songwriter John Christie—Andy’s career kicked off early, working as a musical director for BBC Radio sessions and writing arrangements for the BBC Radio Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios.
With over three decades of professional performance under his belt, Andy has become known for his distinctive approach to modern jazz: a cool, contemporary sound that seamlessly weaves intricate melodies into rich, cinematic, and ambient soundscapes.
Joined by a stellar rhythm section, the trio will be performing a compelling mix of reimagined standards alongside Andy’s original compositions. Expect effortless improvisation, deep grooves, and sophisticated harmonies—the perfect backdrop for a brilliant night out.
