As the leaves turn and the autumn air cools across the Somerset Levels, there’s no better time to experience truly spectacular nature—from world-class birdwatching at RSPB Hamwall and RSPB Greylake to breath-taking winter starling murmurations—followed by a delicious, warming meal at The Sheppey.

Situated right in the heart of the wetlands near The Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve, we are proud neighbours to some of the UK’s most important wildlife habitats. We deeply admire the incredible conservation work carried out by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). To celebrate the season and say a huge thank you to their dedicated members, we are delighted to offer an exclusive 10% discount from Monday to Thursday throughout October and November 2026.

Your Exclusive 10% RSPB Member Discount Awaits!

Whether you’ve spent the morning scanning the reedbeds for bitterns, marsh harriers, and great white egrets, or you’ve just witnessed the magic of dusk as thousands of starlings wheel across the sky in a mesmerising murmuration, you’ll want a cosy spot to debrief.

We’re inviting all RSPB members to join us for a hearty, hot meal after a day of birdwatching and exploring the Somerset Levels and Moors. Enjoy 10% off your food bill (drinks excluded) as a token of our appreciation for your support of British wildlife.

Settle in by a crackling fire with views over the stunning landscape, and treat yourself to our seasonal menu featuring locally sourced produce after a brisk walk through the local reserves.
